This innovative and engaging professional development session is designed specifically for female school counselors (and men interested in positively influencing women) who are interesting in impacting more profoundly within their schools and the community at large. This research-based presentation touches on topics such as women and confidence, strengths versus humility, barriers and opportunities, calling and purpose, imposter syndrome, unconscious bias, nonverbal communication, differences between men and women, and more. The discussion will be framed around research on Utah’s unique culture, and the opportunities and challenges it creates for girls and women. Attendees will receive tips and tools throughout the presentation on strategies they can use daily and weekly to strengthen their impact. These takeaways will also be helpful as they work with young women in their roles as school counselors. Hard copies of free resources will be available, and links to online resources will also be available.
